1.A joint exhibition will be held at the Kamogawa Nanajo Gallery on the Higashiyama Campus of Kyoto University of Arts and Crafts by ceramic artist Jun Kawajiri, who is also a faculty member at Kyoto University, and glass artist Gerard Vatran, who worked in residence at Villa Kujoyama in 2023.
Mr. Kawajiri creates pottery in Higashiyama, Kyoto, and in recent years has been presenting an installation using ceramics and video as contemporary art as part of the "KG+2023" exhibition. (April-May 2023)
Gerard Vatran (Villa Kujoyama Resident in 2023) visited Kyoto College of Traditional Crafts during his residency and hopes to combine his glass works with bamboo to show the intersection of Japanese and French cultures. doing.
In addition, in this joint exhibition, our students will be responsible for organizing the exhibition as part of their classes, while introducing the works of both artists.
We will be showing you a space where Japanese culture and French culture intersect, created by Kawajiri's ceramics and Gerard Vatran's glass works.

2.A gallery talk centered on Mr. Kawajiri mentioned above will be held at our university venue on October 10th (Sunday).
