Exhibition : Creation under influence

This is an exhibition of works by 28 French artists inspired by their creative experiences in Japan, and it is organized as part of the 60th anniversary project of friendship agreement between Paris and Kyoto. The three themes of the exhibition are: Imprinting Japan, Borrowing Japan and Revisiting Japan. The pieces displayed in this exhibition are the results of the combination of French creativity and elements of Japanese culture and harmony.

[Talk 1 ]

An open session by 4 artists who have experienced residence for creation in Japan such as at Villa Kujoyama. The session will give us a clue to get to know the charms of Japanese craft culture which had a large influence on their creative activities.

Guest Speakers: Martine Rey (Lacquer Craft, Resident of Villa Kujoyama), Isabelle Emmerique (Lacquer Craft), Betty de Paris (Vegetable Dyes), and Florence Bost (Contemporary Textile, Resident of Villa Kujoyama in FY1997)
