Nicolas Buffe Exhibition

This is the 15th year that Tokyo based French artist, Nicolas Buffe, has been selected to take part in the Nuit Blanche Paris. Buffe’s creations based on ideas from the renaissance period work of classical literature Hypnerotomachia Poliphili which were adopted as motifs for Nuit Blanche Paris. Known for his work that takes a studded mixture of classical European fine art and Japanese and American subculture, this is a special chance to appreciate this spirited creator’s work within the Daidokoro area of Nijo-jo Castle, a World Heritage Site, during a general admission and private opening. The illustrations are taken from a Hypnerotomachia Poliphili inspired computer game, and were part of a 2014 Hara Museum exhibition entitled “The Dream of Polifilo”. A portion of these illustrations will be on display one night only.
